Radio Gateway Replacement

It is assumed that the radio gateway was physically dismantled and a new one was installed in its place. In most cases, the SIM card from the dismantled radio gateway was moved to the new radio gateway.

Updating the technical accounting base for replacing a radio gateway requires sequential execution of operations:

  • Removing the dismantled radio gateway
  • Clarification of the characteristics of the new radio gateway (after automatic appearance in the System).

Removing a dismantled radio gateway

  1. Select the item of the main menu Inventory->Radio gateways;
  2. Activate the filtering mode of the list;
  3. Find the dismantled radio gateway;
  4. Press the Trash button on the right side of the line;
  5. Confirm the operation;
  6. The radio gateway is marked as remote and excluded from the radio network.
  7. If a SIM card was attached to the radio gateway object, it is unlinked from the radio gateway and marked as free.

Clarification of the characteristics of the new radio gateway

The radio gateway will be automatically registered in the System upon the following successful factors:

  • voltage is applied to the radio gateway;
  • radio gateway in working order;
  • SIM card is inserted, the balance of the SIM card is positive, the mobile network is functioning.

When the radio gateway is automatically registered, it is bound to the radio network by itself.

Clarification of characteristics may be necessary in the following cases:

  • bind the SIM card to the radio gateway;
  • indicate the geographical coordinates of the device installation, if the device is not equipped with a GPS sensor.

To clarify the characteristics:

  1. Select the item of the main menu Inventory->Radio gateways;

  2. Find the radio gateway using one of the available methods:

    • Activate the filtering mode of the list and find the installed radio gateway by code;
    • Sort the list of radio gateways in descending order of the Created column. The desired radio gateway should be at the top of the list on the first page.
  3. Click the Edit button on the right side of the line. A modal window for editing radio gateway parameters will appear.

  4. Select a SIM card. Only free SIM cards will be available in the list.

  5. Specify the coordinates if this radio gateway model does not provide accurate GPS coordinates on its own.

  6. Press Save. The modal window will close. The changes will be made to the database. When specifying a SIM card, it will be marked as busy.
